OUR FAVORITE SPOTS
Our favorite neighborhood afternoon date spot.
HH Mon- Friday 3-5pm :
Half Off Burgers / Martinis
The burger is to die for and their front porch is perfect for sipping a martini or two.
Clark’s Oyster Bar
Flo’s Wine Bar & Bottle Shop
Casual spot in West Austin that sells pizza by the slice, soft serve ice cream and wine by the glass and bottle.
Great patio if the weather is nice.
Neighborhood coffee shop & bakery.
Perfect for picking up an iced latte & croissant to kick off the weekend or enjoying breakfast on the patio.
Swedish Hill
It’s popular for a reason. If you’re staying on South Congress or choose to spend an afternoon strolling the shops, this is a great quick bite.
Home Slice Pizza, South Congress
If you don’t take a dip here while you’re in town, you’re doing it all wrong.
Barton Springs is a spring-fed pool minutes from downtown. This is a very special place to us - where we started getting to know each other in the mornings before work and where we had our first kiss.
Barton Springs Pool
La Piscina at Austin Proper
A fun, trendy upstairs Mexican food restaurant at The Austin Proper. Overlook the pool while sipping on the best spicy frozen marg of your life and make sure to split the chicken fajitas.
If you’re looking for an Easter Brunch spot, this is it. Located just off South Congress, this historic white house is home to one of the best brunch / lunch spots for your Sunday.
Reservations recommended for Easter Brunch.
Mattie’s at Green Pastures
Another neighborhood favorite date spot.
A European-inspired wine bar / patio where we had our first date - and many dates since.
Rosie’s Wine Bar
Two Austin institutions when it comes to Mexican food. These have both been in business for ages, and you can’t go wrong with either.
Fonda San Miguel is a more traditional, interior Mexican food spot with a beautiful interior.
Matt’s El Rancho is a whole other beast. This big, loud Tex Mex joint will have you leaving full, happy and smelling like queso and fajitas. No reservations.
